I'm setting myself up for success this month by choosing three important goals, two of which will need to be done by this weekend. Hooray! That means I'll only have the last one left and it's a shoe-in as long as my calendar alert works to remind me.
november goals:
1. GARDEN: Clean it Out!
We had a little garden this year. In a previous life house we had an enormous garden and a literal, though small, fruit orchard. It felt great to get back to growing things... It's been too long! The tomato plants in this picture started out spindly and half dead. They ended up going gangbusters!
2. GRATITUDE: Family Activity!
Most years, as a family, we do something during November to focus on gratitude. Usually gratitude for each other. I think everyone's favorite so far was when I outlined a tree on a large (double-thick) paper, hung it on the wall, and we wrote on it with markers. :) This time I'm going to make a quick & easy version of this awesome Gratitude Board. If I had found it sooner, I would have made it as is!
3. GET READY: for December!
While it's not saying much, the holiday we decorate the most for is Christmas. However we're not one of those families who have everything up and done to the nines by Thanksgiving. (my best friend is one of those families, and I envy her house every time!) This year I'm determined to pull out our boxes early to AT LEAST get out our Advent activity tree BEFORE December 1st, so it's ready for the kids and not an afterthought. (hey... it's December 2nd... where's the Advent tree?)
Do you have winter yard prep to do?
What are your fun Thanksgiving traditions?
